Route 66, etc. - Day 32
Wow, what a detour my journey has taken. I was finally seen by an orthopedic specialist on Wednesday, the 18th, who put a purple cast on my wrist and told me I could walk in the boot. She told me to come back in 2 weeks but I couldn't just sit around. Bungie and I are homesick. So we hit the road yesterday morning and are east of Reno tonight.
I am sticking to I-80 now and staying in hotels. But hope to get home in a week. I had to navigate walking in snow at a rest stop on top of a mountain today, but the roads were fine. Let's hope that is the worst snow that i will see.

And Bungie is one pooped pup. Watching me drive all day must be hard work.
Thanks to a rented wheelchair and good friends, I was able to do some sightseeing around Eureka.
Loleta hosted Speeder train rides. My need for accommodations was well met and we had a great lunch of grilled cheese at a cheese factory there.
On Sunday evening I was able to listen to Paul's radio show, whose name comes from the Whippy Dip in Monroeville, IN. Paul's show
I got to visit Karen's office and their new Hospice Inpatient Unit. Very nice buildings and setting.
My ortho appointment results:
Happy trails!
